Gamma Air Medical participated in the “7th Aviation Conference: Air Transport of Today and Tomorrow” organized by the Hellenic Aviation Society (HAS), that took place on June 5th and 6th, 2025 at the Sofitel Hotel, Athens International Airport.
The conference’s aim is to attract all those interested in the aviation community and the airline industry.
Gamma Air Medical is an avid supporter of the Hellenic Aviation Society by actively participating in its actions, while Dr. Gregory Kyriakou, CEO of Gamma Air Medical, holds the position of Secretary of the Board of Directors of HAS.
The Hellenic Aviation Society is an important scientific association in Greece in the aviation field, contributing to the progress and promotion of sciences related to air transport, promoting aviation’s project and its contribution to the economic, political, cultural, and social development of the country, while collaborating with Higher Educational Institutions and other Εducational bodies involved in the aviation sector.
There was great interest in Dr. Gregory’s Kyriakou speech, where he analyzed the topic: ‘Mental Health in the Aviation Industry’. The risks and consequences of pilots’ poor mental health are very crucial for the safety of aviation and should always be addressed assessing past incidents and prevented with control measures and protocols. Dr. Kyriakou is well aware of this topic and is able to elaborate on after his many years of experience as an Aeromedical Examiner.
Gamma Air Medical participated in the conference with another significant speech, this time from the company’s IT manager, Mr. Alexandros Adamopoulos, where he talked about ‘Legislative Framework and the Challenges of Safe Use of Drones in Greece and the EU’. This subject is also extremely important with the increase in drone use and the lack of specific legislation. The speech presented not only the current situation but also suggested possible solutions for tracking and identifying drones for safety in the skies.
